Reading boss Jaap Stam has confirmed interest in Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett.

Stam is looking to take the 22-year-old central defender to Reading on a permanent transfer.

“I know Tyler, not personally, but I know what he can do - what type of player he is, the way he can play," says Madejski Stadium boss Stam.

“But I don't know yet if it's going to happen. We've shown our interest but I don't know if we will succeed getting him to the club."
