Reading boss Brian McDermott is delighted to be in football.

McDermott admits he had a year outside the game selling insurance.

"I did it for a year, driving up to London every day," McDermott told The National. "It wasn't for me, but I did my best. It's a ruthless game and I wasn't ruthless.
