Reading boss Steve Coppell says no approaches have been made for Leroy Lita after uncertainty about the striker's long-term future at The Madejski Stadium.
Lita had stated he would consider a move away from the club if an offer was forthcoming, but following his appearance in the 1-0 FA Cup third round defeat to Tottenham he performed a U-turn and said he still 'felt a connection' with the Reading squad.
Coppell has maintained all along that he requires four strikers for cover, and has now reiterated that there has been no movement on the 23-year-old's immediate future.
"There's been a lot in the papers at the weekend about speculation regarding Leroy, but we have heard nothing from anybody," said Coppell on the club's official website.
"It is just 100 percent gibberish as far as I am concerned. We are not in a dialogue with anybody about a transfer in or out at the moment."
