Reading boss Clarke keen to get beyond West Brom sacking

Reading boss Steve Clarke is keen to get beyond his sacking at West Bromwich Albion last season.

Clarke reckons he can push on as a manager after he was axed by the Baggies in December 2013 when they sat two points above the Premier League relegation zone.

"I'm only eight weeks into this job so it's difficult to put too much on what we have done so far," he said.

"I came in to steady the ship, I've managed to that. I've had mainly good performances - one or two not so good - but that's normal. I'm getting to know the players and they are getting to know me.

"I'm happy with what we have done so far, but there's a long way to go.

"My previous job was good. It was a good experience because it was my first job as a manager.

"At that club I was titled 'head coach' and I enjoyed it. I thought I did okay and I've taken good experiences and memories to move onto this job and try to do even better."
