RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has rejected an approach from Chelsea.
The Hungary international is currently in talks with Liverpool about a move to England, with Newcastle United also keen.
TMW says Chelsea attempted to enter the battle on Thursday after agreeing to the £55m sale of Mason Mount to Manchester United.
However, they received short shrift from Szoboszlai's camp, with the player prioritising a move to Liverpool.
Indeed, agents for the Hungary international spent the day on Merseyside yesterday in talks with Liverpool officials.
Szoboszlai's contract with Leipzig carries a €70m buyout clause, which expires at midnight tonight.
