Angelino admits Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola encouraged him to join RB Leipzig.

The fullback is on-loan with RBL to the end of this season after moving to Germany in January.

“He said he was going to be delighted, that it was the perfect setting to see me again," Angelino told La Voz de Galicia when asked if the City manager spoke to him before he left the Etihad.

While he has revealed he is happy at Leipzig, he hasn't given up on playing for City.

“I went to Manchester when I was 16, and I got the thorn in my head from not settling down. But I'm still a Citizen and I don't give up getting a place there," he added.

"It was an option that was there and that eventually came to fruition. It was the best option. Spectacular. Perfect for everything: the style, the team, the coach, the stadium, the fans… It took a while, but I'm very happy."
