Rayo Vallecano coach Iraola proud of players after shock victory over Real Madrid

Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola was proud of his players after their 3-2 win against Real Madrid.

Rayo inflicted a first defeat in LaLiga for Real Madrid.

Iraola said, "It's a game of great merit. We had a very good first half. Turning the 1-2 around after the work we did is to have a very good mind. It has cost us, but Madrid always competes very well.

"The start was very good, we spent a lot of time in the opposition field. At the end of the first half it was more difficult. Then the break came in handy and with the changes we have been able to keep the game in Real's field for a long time.

"Last year we started the same way and in the end it cost us. Everyone finds it hard to win games. We have a good dynamic, one last effort against Celt."

Iraola was sent to the stands in the second-half and he explained: "I made a gesture at a clear corner by (Thibaut) Courtois. The fourth referee was recognising me that it was like that and why doesn't he correct the referee's action. I feel bad.

"The next game I won't be able to sit in the dugout."
