Rayo Vallecano coach Francisco delighted with victory at Getafe

Rayo Vallecano coach Francisco was delighted with their 2-0 win at Getafe.

Sergio Camello struck twice as Getafe suffered three red cards.

Francisco said: "There are many positive things in this match. The victory after eight games, the clean sheet, which is now eight so far this season and a striker scoring a goal after everything that has been talked about.

"It is a very important victory to finish the first round, which excites me starting 2024 because we have not stopped being a competitive team, but not achieving victories was undermining us.

"Very proud of the team for getting three points against an uncomfortable team like Getafe and even more so in the situation they were in."

On his own future, Francisco also said: "I don't listen to what they say about me, the players know what I want and the time I dedicate to Rayo. When the victories don't come, all eyes go to the same side, but it hasn't bothered me at all.

"I have continued my path to achieve this victory and many more to come. Many teams would like to have 23 points, as we would like to have much more. We have always competed less with Athletic and Atlético. I hope that when the season ends we will all be happy and from there we will see."
