Rangers have warned Manchester United and Newcastle off star fullback Alan Hutton.

Ibrox bosses insist the 22-year-old, who was outstanding against World Cup winners Italy at Hampden on Saturday, is happy at the club and is going nowhere.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a huge fan and Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle are monitoring him, but a Rangers official last night declared: "We have no intention of selling him.

"I think you will soon discover that Rangers are a buying club, not a selling one.

"We are building our squad at the moment and Alan is a key member who has just recently signed a new four-year contract."
