Gary McAllister is urging Rangers to snap up Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.
Fowler is available on a free transfer and McAllister said of his former Reds teammate: "I played with Robbie and he worked extremely hard to earn that new deal back at Anfield.
"Robbie doesn't need three or four chances to score. If he gets one, he pops it away because he has a fantastic array of finishing. He can dink it, he's good in the air and has a powerful left peg. He's a clever finisher and it would be a big plus for Rangers if they signed him.
"It might work in a Rangers shirt for him. The similarities are there with the expectancy of the fans at Liverpool and Rangers. City and Leeds have fantastic fans with expectations but the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Celtic and Rangers are different.
"Robbie will have his own thoughts but he knows what Rangers are all about and the stature of the club.
"I've spoken to him about it but he's not heard anything.
"I think there would be value in getting him, though. That sort of club, where the expectancy is so high, would keep him going."
