Rangers midfielder Lundstram urges patience from fans tonight against Liverpool

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has urged fans to stand with them tonight against Champions League opponents Liverpool.

The Scouse midfielder says the Light Blues will look to "lay a glove" on their opponents in their upcoming Champions League clash after failing to do so last week.

Lundstram, a boyhood Liverpool fan, said it's up to he and his Rangers teammates to show the Anfield stars a certain level of respect for their abilities - at the same time as showing them NONE AT ALL.

He said: "It's great to come up against these players but they're on the other team, you've got to block that out and play your own game.

"Show them respect to a certain extent, but at the same time show them no respect as well.

"We have to try and get in amongst it. A lot of players can be great players when you have time on the ball. I think we're great players when we have time on the ball but when you get up in someone's face, things change. Hopefully if we can do that, and our midfield match their midfield, that will be key.

"As long as we're up against them and laying a glove on them hopefully we can get something."

He added: "At Ibrox you have to get up against people, get the crowd up, get the crowd going and try to instil a bit of fear in the opposition.

"If we can get up to them and in their faces, it might leave us open a bit. Everyone will have to be brave in the stands and bear with us."
