Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty admits the chance to work with someone of Steven Gerrard's calibre would be an incredible experience.

Liverpool legend Gerrard is being linked with the Rangers job for next season.

But Docherty knows there is the small matter of an Old Firm clash to navigate before thinking about the future.

"Of course, it's Steven Gerrard, he is a renowned name in world football and he's a midfielder, I'd love to be able to play like him and if I could learn from someone like that it would be great," he told Sky Sports News.

"For me, if he is to come in, then fantastic, but we have got a good managerial staff here. The coaching staff are great and, as players, we focus on the weekend."
