Rangers great Ally McCoist was impressed by Roberto Firmino in midweek.

Firmino scored twice in Liverpool's 7-1 Champions League win at Ibrox.

"I think he is one of the most intelligent footballers I have seen in a long, long time. His game awareness and game intelligence is truly second to none. Fantastic footballer," McCoist told talkSPORT.

"Quick feet, good in the air, intelligent. Sees things, knows where it (the ball) is going.

"I think he is a very, very smart player."
