Rangers have moved to terminate the loan deal that took Andy King to the club for this season.
The Leicester City winger will now return to the Premier League side.
He played only five times for Rangers since arriving in the summer, with only two of those games coming in the Scottish Premiership.
The 31-year-old has not played since September.
King will be hoping that he can get the chance to go on loan somewhere else for regular first team football.
A Championship club may be able to offer him a route away from Leicester for the second half of the season.
King has been with Leicester since he was 15.
