Rangers Boyd prepared for Tartan Army backlash

Kris Boyd is unconcerned over the reaction he'll receive from the Tartan Army when he finally ends his self-imposed exile from the Scotland team. New boss Craig Levein is expected to include the Rangers striker in the squad he names on Monday for next month's friendly against the Czech Republic at Hampden, before the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign begins in earnest in September.

"You are either liked or you are not," said the 26 year old.

"I've had it from day one and it doesn't bother me.

"I'll go and give it my best on the park and if people support me, they support me. If they don't, they don't."

Boyd believes he is set to return a better player than the one who quit a year past in October.

He said: "I feel as though I'm ready to come back and give more than I gave before.

"I wasn't playing before and I feel now I've established myself in the Rangers team.

"I'm scoring most weeks and I'm ready to hopefully take that on into international level.

"Yes, it's a challenge. But it's one I look forward to.

"It was a big decision to make at the time but I felt it was the right one to make. I've done that and I feel as though I am a better player now.

"Now I feel I'm ready to go back to international football and hopefully I can prove myself at that level."
