Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is chasing Manchester City midfielder Brandon Barker.

The Sun says fleet-footed winger Barker is wanted by Hibs boss Neil Lennon after impressing there last season.

But the Hibees are believed to be outsiders in the fight to grab the 21-year-old — with Rangers, Hull City and several other English Championship outfits in a position to pay a greater percentage of his hefty wage at Manchester City.

Barker's currently tied to City until 2020 and it's understood the Premier League champions would be open to a permanent switch, but it's believed Gerrard is looking at a temporary transfer for now.
