Nile Ranger feels he doesn't need a loan move away from Newcastle United.
While a loan move to the Championship has been mooted, with Sheffield United thought to be interested in the teenager, Ranger is prepared to keep pushing on.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "We're back in the Premier League, and it's a big step up, so I've got to be patient and wait for my turn. Right now, the team's strong, and Andy's (Carroll) been getting the goals.
"Chris (Hughton) has told me to keep going.
"He hasn't sent me on loan, so I must be doing all right. I'm keeping my head down, and getting on with it. It's still early in the season. If I get my chance, hopefully I'll take it."
