Racing Santander president Francisco Pernia has made an ambitious move for three Valencia players.
Pernia was in Valencia on Tuesday and sounded out Los Che directors about the prospect of taking Juan Mata, Ever Banega and Hugo Viana on-loan for the new season.
A deal could be on, with Valencia interested in Racing's young goalkeeper Tono for season 2009/10.
