Quincy convinced Portsmouth have turned corner

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has called on Portsmouth fans to roar them to victory over Stoke City.

The former Arsenal winger is convinced they've turned the corner after their FA Cup win over Southampton.

"Southampton played some good football and made it tough for us in the first half, so we'll take plenty of confidence from the win," Quincy told Pompey's website. "Obviously Stoke are Premier League opposition so we know it will be a tough match on Saturday.

"But we've got home advantage which is a big thing. The fans will be behind us and can hopefully spur us on to victory. With them on our side, we're confident that we can produce a good performance and win the game."

And Owusu-Abeyie hopes that victory against Stoke can be the spark that helps Pompey climb out of the bottom three.

He said: "It's a massive game for us. We're at the bottom of the table and we want to close the gap to the sides above us in the table. We want to get out of the relegation places as soon as possible. It's not going to be easy but we need a win on Saturday to help us on the way."
