Carlos Queiroz has revealed how Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's cheery manner keeps Old Trafford humming.

He said: "Alex has an ability to make the right decisions whether it is about the players, the staff or games.

"But you see the best of Alex when we lose a couple of games and things are not going in the direction we expect.

"He comes in every morning with a smile on his face and bursting with confidence that we can do the right thing for the club and that is an amazing side of him.

"When we lost to Manchester City and Bolton, he arrives the next day singing and smiling and with a fantastic sense of humour.

"Alex helps us relax and do the job we have to do. He supports us and helps us stay strong and do our best for the club.

"He never lets us down. Ferguson is always out front driving the team forward."
