QPR striker Lyndon Dykes exclusive: No regrets choosing Scotland over Australia

QPR striker Lyndon Dykes insists he has no regrets committing his international career to Scotland over Australia.

Born and raised in Queensland, Australia, Dykes didn't become a fulltime pro until moving to Scotland.

Now impressing with QPR in the Championship, he admits he took calls from Australia coaching staff before eventually committing to Scotland.

And while he was happy for Australia and their run to the round of 16 in the World Cup last month, Dykes says he has no regrets choosing the country of his family.

On behalf of CopyBet, Dykes told Tribalfootball.com: "Yeah I watched a couple of the (World Cup) games. You know, well done to them. It's great for the players great for the nation to do what they did.

"I was obviously happy for what they did.

"(But) it wasn't anything that I regret doing obviously going with Scotland. I don't look at that as a regret.

"I'm focused on Scotland and I hope to get there (the World Cup) one day with Scotland. I want to keep going to major tournaments."

On Australia's performance in Qatar, Dykes added: "Yeah for them and the players I know a couple of the players so I am really happy for them and hopefully they keep doing well."
