QPR ready to cut loose Brazilian keeper Cesar

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he is ready to let Julio Cesar leave the Championship club so he can play before the World Cup. The Brazilian keeper has been starved of opportunities this season due to the good form of Robert Green.

Redknapp says they will not ask for a fee for Cesar, who arrived at Loftus Road in August 2012 on a four-year deal, and reports suggest there will be a number of clubs interested.

"We wouldn't stand in Julio's way and we aren't asking a fee for him," Redknapp said, quoted by the Fulham Chronicle.

"He needs to play and he could play anywhere for any team. He's just been unlucky.

"Rob's been fantastic and I can't take him out of the team.

"However, Julio's a great guy, and he needs to play soon, so he can play in the World Cup."
