QPR chairman Fernandes insists Remy staying

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is ready to keep hold of Loic Remy.

France international Remy was on the verge of an £8.5million transfer to Liverpool last month only for Brendan Rodgers's side to pull out of the deal at the last minute.

Fernandes is now looking to make the most of his good fortune.

He said: "I think he will [start the season at Rangers]. It is Liverpool's loss and our gain. Nothing is ever cast in stone in football but I am moderately optimistic Remy will be wearing the shirt this season."
