QPR boss Harry Redknapp says it was MARTIN JOL who convinced him to play Gareth Bale as a left-winger at Tottenham.
Debate has raged over Redknapp's use of the Real Madrid star at Spurs.
"I played Gareth Bale on the left-wing, but I wasn't the first one to do it," Redknapp said.
"I saw him play on the left-wing for Martin Jol at Fulham one day, because we were playing Fulham the week after.
"And he played outside left and he was fantastic.
"I can't sit here and say I was the clever one to do it. Martin played him on the left-wing, I moved him from left-back to left-wing."
