QPR boss Redknapp: I could handle England criticism

QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he could handle the criticism that comes with the England job.

Redknapp is adamant he would have been prepared to take the stick that England managers inevitably face had he been chosen for the job.

"You are always going to get that with the England job," he said.

"When a lovely man like Bobby Robson can be called the names he was called before the 1990 World Cup, you know that anyone can get it.

"The only one that didn't get it was Terry Venables at Euro 96. But that is all part of the job."
