QPR boss Redknapp: Difficult to bounce straight back up

QPR boss Harry Redknapp admits it will be difficult to bounce straight back up from relegation this season.

Redknapp is prepared to take charge of QPR in the Championship.

"Reading have a manager who has gained two promotions and will be a force if they go down," he said of today's opponents.

"Wigan will be another great club against us if they are relegated, as Villa would be. Then you have to look at Blackburn, Bolton, Leicester, Ipswich, Brighton and many more. Wolves are an example where continuity is so vital in football. Their mistake was letting Mick McCarthy go.

"It's a tough, tough league to escape from and you have to start well, which is why, if we are down today or Monday, I will start looking to make changes for next season.

"For now it's important to beat Reading. I don't want to finish bottom of the Premier League. I think we've been unlucky in recent games but a table never lies and, if we finish bottom, then that's where we'll deserve to be.

"But I finished bottom with Southampton and I don't want to do it again."
