QPR boss Hughes explains Taarabt axing

QPR boss Mark Hughes has explained dropping Adel Taarabt for their draw at Norwich City.

The Moroccan was left warming the bench as the QPR boss opted to play two up front, with Bobby Zamora partnering Djibril Cisse through the middle.

Hughes explained: "I've got options but I just felt it was important to have a focal point and that's what Bobby gives us.

"I left Adel out because although he gives us a lot in terms of attacking, it's important when we're away from home that we're compact as well.

"It was a little bit hard on Adel, in fairness, but we've got threats and it's important I pick a team that can capitalise on them."
