Sporting Kansas City has come to terms on a new contract with key defender Matt Besler.
The 25-year old has been attracting interest form the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City this offseason after winning the MLS Defender of the Year award for 2012.
However, Besler has signed a three-year deal with SKC opting to remain in his hometown than head to the UK.
"Once I factored in everything Sporting KC had to offer, it was an easy decision," Besler said.
"I've said all along this is where I want to stay and this is where I want to play.
"I really like the group of guys that (coach) Peter (Vermes) has put together, and I really do believe that we have the potential to win championships next year and for years to come."
