Pulis hoping West Brom striker Berahino soon grows up

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis cannot wait for the penny to finally drop with Saido Berahino.

The 22-year-old striker has often been criticised for not toeing the line at The Hawthorns which has ultimately cost him a place in Pulis' first team this season.

While undoubtedly gifted and supremely talented, Berahino lacks a decent work ethic which often sees him late for training, prompting Pulis to send him a gentle warning on more than one occasion.

The Baggies boss said of Berahino: "Yes, he can be that way.

"The important thing is that he recognises the other 24 players are turning up on time, and he has to turn up on time as well.

"He's trained well this week, he's been in on time and he's done everything that everyone else has done so he's been alright.

"He just falls into situations where he tends to lapse. It's not because he's a bad lad or anything. It's just the way he is.

"It's just him growing up and recognising it's about the group and about the team, and the football club."
