West Brom boss Tony Pulis is set to make a case for summer's investment in his squad to the club's new Chinese owner.

Pulis revealed that he would travel to China on Monday to meet billionaire owner Guochuan Lai and his associates.

He said: "Even now I can only see the big clubs getting further away from the rest of us.

"They have the resources to spend big and then bigger again. I can see the gap between the top six or seven and the rest getting even bigger.

"I'm going out on Monday to meet Mr Lai and the rest of the Chinese people."

"They've invited us over and it's going to be a great opportunity to sit down, analyse the season and see where we go from here.

"I'll talk to them about the way they see the club going forward. We will know where we are then."
