Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has the funds to land two big name signings this summer to lift the quality of his Potters squad.
The Sunday Mirror says Pulis promised supporters he would deliver two "marquee" signings in the close season following an excellent campaign in which Stoke cemented their Premier League status and never looked in danger of relegation.
A midfielder and a striker are on his agenda.
But he looks set to look abroad for a new forward after being priced out of moves for several targets including England marksman Emile Heskey (Aston Villa) and Carlton Cole (West Ham United).
