Stoke have reportedly lined up Birmingham midfielder Seb Larsson as an alternative to loanee Jermaine Pennant should a proposed permanent deal for the former Liverpool man fall through. Potter boss Tony Pulis is puzzled by comments from chairman Peter Coates that the Swedish winger is a target.
"I've heard that one," admitted Pulis.
"It's a surprise to me because I've never, ever, ever mentioned Seb Larsson so I don't know where Peter's got that one from."
