Marco van Ginkel is set to stay with Chelsea for next season - at least until January.
The Holland midfielder is battling a knee injury, which has seen hopes of a permanent deal with PSV Eindhoven fall through.
Van Ginkel's agent Karel Jansen told Eindhovens Dagblad: "We're going to try to solve it now, through injections or surgery. These are the scenarios that are weighed. At the moment, a transfer is not at all the case.
"PSV have received a very important contribution from Marco in recent years and vice versa, he also feels trust and appreciation. We are now first faced with other choices, where fitness is paramount.
"The situation is as it is, but the past has shown that Marco can fight and so play again."
