PSV fined and fans banned after Arsenal trouble

PSV Eindhoven have been fined and their fans banned after problems at Arsenal last week.

PSV have been fined €40,000 (£34,700) and banned from selling tickets to its away supporters for next week's Europa League match with Bodo/Glimt after crowd trouble at Europa League opponents Arsenal last week.

At the end of the Gunners' 1-0 win over PSV last Thursday, supporters clashed at the Emirates Stadium and PSV fans threw chairs and flares from the away end.

The Dutch club were swiftly charged by Uefa the next day and their punishment has now been confirmed.

A statement on Thursday read: “UEFA Europa League group stage match between Arsenal FC and PSV Eindhoven (1:0), played on 20 October in London

“Decision: To fine PSV Eindhoven €40,000 and to ban PSV Eindhoven from selling tickets to its away supporters for the next one (1) UEFA competition match, for throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and acts of damages.

“To order PSV Eindhoven to contact Arsenal FC within 30 days for the settlement of damages caused by its supporters, i.e. for the damaged seats."
