PSG are closing a deal for Real Madrid attacker Marcos Asensio.

Off contract next month, Asensio has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer.

It had been claimed the winger had agreed to move to Unai Emery's Aston Villa. However, PSG are now emerging as favourites for his signature.

ESPN says PSG chief Luis Campos' relationship with Asensio's agent Jorge Mendes has them at an advantage.

But for the moment, Villa remain in the hunt, with nothing yet settled.
