Alex has revealed his relief at finally leaving Chelsea - and joining former Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti at Paris Saint-Germain.
Brazilian defender Alex signed from Santos but was then loaned out to Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven in July 2004.
"I spent two years with Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea and I'm very happy.
"Every coach has their preference about which players they like. The coach Villas-Boas didn't like my way of playing football.
"I stayed on the bench for a lot of the games - and I preferred to go to another club. I wrote to the club and asked to leave in January.
"I want to play. This is part of my life and I like to play. I am here now at a good club and a big club, and I'm happy. I've been a champion in every club I've played in.
"I hope that will be the case here and playing in the Champions League will be great.
"No one has guaranteed me anything. I spoke to Carlo Ancelotti - I was a champion with him at Chelsea and I'll be a champion with him here." Alex said: "I spent the last two months watching, and wanting to leave Chelsea - and finally we had a conversation and everything went very well between myself and PSG.
