Manchester City are on the brink of signing PSG youth captain Claudio Gomes.

L'Equipe says a deal could be struck in the coming hours with Gomes already informing PSG that he is leaving for the Premier League leaders.

PSG management are angered over the developments as they had high hopes for the 17 year-old.

Gomes is captain of PSG's U19 team and a France U18 international, but the addition of veteran midfielder Lassana Diarra has forced his representatives to enter talks with City.

An agreement is expected to be reached as early as today.
