PSG fullback Thomas Meunier has apologised to Real Madrid ace Eden Hazard after his challenge inflicted injury on his fellow Belgian during their 2-2 Champions League draw on Tuesday.
The PSG defender expressed his regret over the challenge that forced his international colleague off the field.
"I'm really sad. I tried to contact him directly after the game, but I couldn't get through," Meunier told Derniere Heure.
"Then, I saw two, three of his teammates who told me he was very sore.
"Whether it is serious or not, I don't know. Fingers crossed, it won't be," Meunier said.
Due to their close friendship, Meunier made clear that Hazard would be the last player he'd want to cause harm to.
"My goal is never to hurt other players. And if there is one player that I don't want to hurt, it's Eden," Meunier added.
