Czech teen Tomas Prikryl turned down overtures from Manchester City to join Sparta Prague his agent has revealed.

The 19-year old midfielder was the subject of interest from City, amongst other English clubs, but decided to leave Sigmo Olomouc to play regular first team football in the nation's capital.

"Top clubs from England and Germany wanted him. Among them was Manchester City," his agent Viktor Kolar told isport.blesk.cz.

"Tomas' age means he needs to be at a club where he will be playing in a top league. That's why we opted for Sparta."
