Preston North End are eager to re-sign Aston Villa starlet Cameron Archer in January.

There has been plenty speculation over the Archer's future at Villa Park after struggling for game time in the Premier League this season.

He enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Deepdale Stadium in the second half of last season, scoring seven goals in 20 appearances.

The 21-year-old was part of Villa's pre-season, where he scored twice in four games but he has since made just four appearances from the substitutes bench.

With the transfer window set to open in the new year, his future remains to be solved amid several interest from other clubs.
