PREMIERSHIP WRAP: Man Utd clinch league title, Blackpool and Wolves both win ensuring relegation battle goes to final game of season.

Manchester United had to come from behind at Blackburn to earn a 1-1 draw and the one point needed to give them a record breaking 19th League title. Blackburn took a first-half lead through Brett Emerton and it needed a controversial 73rd minute penalty to hand the title to the visitors. Nani had already hit the post for United but Martin Olsson also hit the woodwork for the home side.

Rovers keeper Paul Robinson was adjudged to have brought down Javier Hernandez to the fury of the Blackburn players, but Wayne Rooney remained calm to convert the penalty.

At the final whistle there were wild scenes of joy on the pitch as the players and management celebrated winning the Premiership title.

For Rovers it means a nervous final game of the season as they look to avoid playing Championship football next season with both relegation candidates Blackpool and Wolves winning their games.

At Bloomfield Road Blackpool beat local rivals Bolton 4-3 but still remain in the drop zone on goal difference.

Kevin Davies put Bolton ahead in the sixth minute but DJ Campbell quickly levelled.

The Seasiders then took the lead through Jason Puncheon only for Matthew Taylor to restore parity at 2-2.

Then on the stroke of half-time Blackpool edged ahead with Campbell's second.

Back came the Wanderers and a Daniel Sturridge header brought the scores level again just after the break.

But Ian Holloway's team were not to be denied and scored the crucial fourth in the 63rd minute courtesy of star player Charlie Adam, and this time the Seasiders held out for the three points.

Wolves won for only the third time on their travels this season with a 3-1 victory at Sunderland, lifting them one point above the bottom three places.

Centre-half Jody Craddock opened the scoring midway through the first period but Sunderland deservedly equalised before the break as Stephane Sessegnon volleyed home.

But the impressive visitor's restored their lead with a Steven Fletcher header and confirmed the vital win late-on with George Elokobi finding the net.

At the Hawthorns a typical end of season game went in favour of West Bromwich Albion who continued their fine run of form with a 1-0 win over Everton.

Youssouf Mulumbu scored the only goal early in the first period and Everton ended the game with ten men after Diniyar Bilyaletdinov was harshly dismissed late-on.
