PREMIER LEAGUE WRAP SATURDAY: Chelsea stay atop as Southampton win again

Chelsea have remained top of the Premier League table following a narrow 2-1 win over QPR today.

Jose Mourinho's Blues stayed four points clear of second-placed Southampton thanks to goals from Oscar and Eden Hazard either side of Charlie Austin's 62nd-minute equaliser.

Chelsea now have eight wins and two draws from ten fixtures which has them ahead of the Saints who won for the third time in a row when beating Hull City 1-0 at the KC Stadium.

Victor Wanyama's third-minute effort did the damage for Ronald Koeman's side who are enjoying a brilliant beginning to the 2014/15 campaign.

Arsenal moved to fourth with a 3-0 home win over bottom-placed Burnley courtesy of another Alexis Sanchez brace, which took his season tally to seven goals, as West Bromwich Albion pushed up to tenth with a 1-0 victory at Leicester City.

West Ham United came from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw at Stoke City, Swansea City overcame a 72nd-minute red card to Jonjo Shelvey to hold Everton to a 0-0 draw while Newcastle United made it three wins in a row when beating Liverpool 1-0 at St James' Park.

Sunday's fixtures sees reigning champions Manchester City host local rivals Manchester United with Tottenham making the trip to Aston Villa. Monday night plays host to Crystal Palace versus Sunderland at Selhurst Park.
