PREMIER LEAGUE STATS SPECIAL: Tottenham spoils Wenger's 700th, Man City's woes and Defoe grabs rare record

Tottenham marred Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's 700th BPL match, Manchester City have not won four in a row for five years and Jermain Defoe marked an interesting milestone this weekend.

Stats compiled by Opta

UNHAPPY 700 FOR WENGER

- Arsenal's clash with north London derby rivals Tottenham on Saturday was his 700th BPL match as manager. The Frenchman became just the second manager to achieve the milestone behind Sir Alex Ferguson. Unfortunately the Gunners were beaten 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

FIRST-TIME TRIO FOR OZIL

- Mesut Ozil's 11th-minute opener in Arsenal's 2-1 loss at Tottenham was his third in three matches for the Gunners. It was the first time he has achieved that feat since joining the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013. He also scored in the FA Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion and last weekend's 5-0 thumping of Aston Villa.

THE 'HARRYKANE' CONTINUES

- Harry Kane's double in Spurs' 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Gunners took his season tally to 22 in all competitions which is more than any other BPL player. The homegrown hero has netted 10 goals in his past 9 league outings.

TOTTENHAM LEAVING IT LATE

- Tottenham's 2-1 win over Arsenal, which came courtesy of Kane's 86th-minute winner, took their points tally to 12 from goals scored in the final five minutes of matches this season which is twice as many as any other BPL club.

MAN CITY CAN'T MUSTER MAX POINTS

- Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Hull City was the fourth BPL fixture in a row they have been unable to win. This is the first time since November 2009 that this has occurred for the reigning champions.

DUKES OF HAZARD

- Eden Hazard's early opener in Chelsea's 2-1 win at Aston Villa was the eighth goal in nine BPL matches he has had a hand in. He has mustered four goals and four assists during that time.

DEFOE DOES THE DAMAGE ON ALL 20

- Jermain Defoe's 42nd-minute goal in Sunderland's 1-1 draw at Swansea City means he has now scored against all 20 of the 2014/15 BPL clubs during his career.

VILLA FINALLY BREAK DROUGHT

- Jore Okore's 48th-minute goal in Aston Villa's 2-1 loss to Chelsea was their first goal in 659 minutes of BPL football ending the fourth-worst scoring drought in history.

IVANOVIC NO CHELSEA VILLAIN

- Branislav Ivanovic's 66th-minute winner for Chelsea over Aston Villa was his fifth goal in his past six outings against the west Midlands club.

MILNER MAKES AN IMPACT

- James Milner's late equaliser in Man City's 1-1 draw with Hull was his first goal in 36 BPL appearances. His last goal in the league came in a 4-2 win at Fulham in December 2013.

MANE THE MAIN MAN

- Sadio Mane's injury-time winner for Southampton at QPR was his fourth goal in his past four starts for the Saints. He also netted in the 3-1 win at Crystal Palace, the 1-1 draw with Chelsea and the 2-0 win over Arsenal when starting.

SAINTS MAKE HISTORY

- Southampton's 1-0 win over QPR was the first time in their history they have won four in a row in the English top flight.

BURNLEY AND WBA USING THEIR HEADS

- The 2-2 draw between Burnley and West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor produced four headed goals for the first time since November 2012 when Fulham and Arsenal used their heads on four occasions. Ashley Barnes, Danny Ings, Chris Brunt and Brown Ideye all nodded home in the tense affair.
