PREMIER LEAGUE: QPR and West Brom share the spoils

QPR's struggles at home continue as, despite taking a first-half lead they allowed West Bromwich Albion to score a late leveller in a 1-1 draw. The host's had only won once at home in the league this season but seemed on course for three points after Joey Barton set up Heidar Helguson for the opener.

Helguson has now scored in each of the club's last four Premier League home matches to equal Les Ferdinand's club record from 1994.

Shaun Wright-Phillips then had a goal chalked off for offside which would have clinched the points. But Albion, who have a poor record in London winning just three of 30 top flight encounters, earned a point with nine minutes remaining as Shane Long converted substitute Peter Odemwingie's cross.

For QPR they can reflect on a succession of missed chances which prevented them doubling their homes successes this term.

Referee: Martin Atkinson

Venue: Loftus Road Attendance: 17,290

QPR scorers: Helguson 20 West Brom scorers: Long 81

TRIBAL ASKS: Two teams here who seemed destined for mid-table mediocrity

Yellow cards: Long (WBA), Thomas (WBA), Reid (WBA)
