The Premier League Player of the Year nominees have been released.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling have all been nominated to win the award, as have Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane.

The only other player not representing either of the Premier League title rivals is Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

Van Dijk was recently named the PFA Players' Player of the Year for 2019.

City forward Sterling had been Van Dijk's closest challenger for the prize but the Dutchman succeeded his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah to win the award.

In taking the prize Van Dijk became the first defender to claim the trophy since John Terry in 2005.
