English League Two club AFC Wimbledon will host Premier League newcomers Reading in a pre-season friendly.

The Dons will meet the Championship title winners at Kingsmeadow on July 14 in what is a major coup for Terry Brown and the Southwest London club.

"I wish to personally thank Brian McDermott for promising to bring his newly-promoted Premier League squad here," Brown told the club's official website.

"Both clubs will be trying out all of their first-team squads and I am looking forward to what should be an entertaining match.

"Considering Brian lost key players after they were beaten in the play-off final (last season), he has done a remarkable job in leading Reading into the Premier League."
