PREMIER LEAGUE: Jagielka stunner gives Everton share of Liverpool points

Everton forced a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees produced a stunning injury-time equaliser courtesy of Phil Jagielka after Reds skipper a Steven Gerrard had put the home side ahead with a brilliant free-kick in the 65th minute.

Liverpool had created the better of the chances throughout and finally got their reward when Gerrard curled his set piece over the Everton wall and in off the outstretched hand of Tim Howard.

It appeared as though Brendan Rodgers' side would take all three points as the minutes ticked on but Roberto Martinez's Toffees struck in the 92nd minute when skipper Jagielka got hold off a half-volley tracer bullet which rocketed by Simon Mignolet.

The draw was the fourth in the past five outings between these two sides which saw Everton grab their third draw of the season while Liverpool fell to 10th just when they seemed on the verge of recording a vital victory.
