Trabzonspor are preparing to sell goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir this summer.
The youngster has been linked with Chelsea, Sheffield United, Leicester City and Liverpool.
The Leicester Mercury says reports earlier this year claiming that City's head of recruitment, Lee Congerton, had been to watch the 23-year-old in action for Trabzonspor.
The one-cap Turkish international will almost certainly be sold when the season concludes, with Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu appearing to confirm that the club needs to service their mounting debt by raising between €10m and €20m every year.
"We have to sell players and replace them with the next undervalued talent," said Agaoglu.
“€10-20m has to enter the club every year.
"If we continue along this track we will clear our debts long-term but we must stay disciplined."
