PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal continue winning form with comfortable win over Aston Villa

Arsenal have made it seven Premier League wins in a row with a 3-0 home win over Aston Villa.

The Gunners have been in a rich vein of form in recent times and continued that by putting a trio of goals past Villa who remain 15th on the table whilst Arsene Wenger's third-placed outfit moved three points clear of North London rivals Tottenham.

Left-back Kieran Gibbs netted his first-ever Premier League goal when he squeezed home past Shay Given at the near post in the 16th minute after receiving a pass from Gervinho.

Soon enough, it was 2-0 when Theo Walcott scored his fifth of the season when he was the recipient of a neat long ball from Alex Song before netting coolly in the 25th minute.

The Gunners were well on their way and it became academic in injury-time when Mikel Arteta expertly curled in a free-kick from 25 yards to make it maximum points for the seventh time on the trot as Wenger's men continue to revamp their earlier flailing season.
