Prandelli admits Fiorentina in crisis ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli admits they're in crisis after defeat last night to Sampdoria.

The Viola face Champions League opponents Bayern Munich this week.

Alessandro Gamberini dislocated his shoulder and had it put back into place under anaesthetic in hospital. He will require further tests to see the extent of the damage, but this is an injury that the defender has suffered from before.

Mario Alberto Santana limped off 15 minutes into the game and has been diagnosed with a muscular tear, so he too is out of Wednesday's trip to Bayern Munich.

"I honestly don't recall anything going our way in the last few games. Nonetheless, we need to have the calm and strength to believe we can improve.

"At least when 2-0 down we didn't give up and stop playing. That is the most important aspect, as even in defeat you have to give your best."

With Adrian Mutu suspended after failing a drugs test, Fiorentina are forced to reshuffle in Munich.

"In three days we have a very important match. We must face it without fear, as in the Champions League we've already done more than expected," continued Prandelli. "Clearly we need more intensity. We've got to change the way we develop our football, as away from home it's a real struggle.

"This could mean giving fewer reference points to our opponents, so adding an extra midfielder."
